Petals Florists, located in Armthorpe, initially provided flowers for weddings, funerals and gifts as well as fruit baskets.

With the aid of Business Doncaster, Julie has attended a business course to develop her skills and assist the running of the business. The pair have also received help from Business Buddies in setting up a Website to promote the shop on the internet. They have also received a financial grant from the programme to promote the business further through the production and distribution of flyers.

Because of this help Petal Florists is now able to offer its customers more products and services. The business can now provide a wider selection of gifts, handmade cards and houseplants. They also provide funeral plaques and potholders for cemeteries.

Julie and Donna have been friends for over 20 years and enjoy the opportunity they have to work together. Julie has always had an interest and passion for flower arranging and is very much self-taught. Donna is a single parent and relishes the chance she has had to go back to work and become self-employed.
